Corner guard coming off? How you fit it makes the difference
When an adhesive protector lifts, the first thing to do is stop and check carefully, without pulling at it or relying on a makeshift fix.
The most common causes
- Dust, moisture or residue on the surface at the time of fitting.
- A stretched roll: pulling the material during fitting can make it lift.
- A very uneven, porous or delicate surface, such as rough paint or fragile finishes.
- Too little waiting time before use, or too little pressure.
What to do, step by step
- Remove the lifted section and keep the pieces away from the child.
- Clean the surface with a product suitable for the furniture and let it dry completely.
- Refit the roll without stretching it, laying it gradually and pressing carefully (see the fitting guide).
- Respect the waiting time stated in the instructions before using the furniture as usual.
If you are not sure the surface is suitable, test first in a hidden spot and check that it stays firmly attached. If the protector keeps coming off, remove it and do not leave it within the child’s reach: check the instructions or write to info@happychlea.com to find out whether that surface is compatible. For corners, a different product may be an alternative: read clear or soft.
Protectors help soften bumps against edges and corners. They do not remove every risk and do not replace adult supervision.
