Clear or soft corner guards? How to choose for your furniture

There is no single right choice: it depends on what you want to be “seen” and on the furniture you have. Here is how to think it through.

When to choose clear

They are the natural choice on glass, light wood, marble or design pieces where a coloured corner guard would clash. They let the finish show. Bear in mind they still add some thickness to the corner.

When to choose soft

If you do not mind them being seen, or want a colour that blends with the furniture (white on light lacquer, black on dark pieces, brown on warm woods), the rubber soft guards with active foam are a good choice. The set of 20 is handy when you have many corners.

What about long edges?

Corner guards protect corners, not edges. For tables and units with exposed long stretches, consider a kit with a roll, like the 6.4 metre kit, perhaps combined with Crystal on glass corners. To work out how much you need, read how to measure.

Whichever you choose, check compatibility with the surface (guide to surfaces and maintenance).

Protectors help soften bumps against edges and corners. They do not remove every risk and do not replace adult supervision.
